Gene Reznik is the Global Lead of Accenture’s Communications Industry Group. He has been with Accenture for nearly 15 years and has worked across multiple industries and technology domains. Gene specializes in strategic issues surrounding the development and transition to next-generation Internet-based services, which is an area where he has performed extensive research and client work. Prior to his current role, Gene led Accenture’s North American Communications Network Practice where he was responsible for working with wireline, wireless and cable operators on evolving their network platforms and operational capabilities to support next-generation services. In this capacity, Gene authored Accenture’s Network Cost Reduction Methodology and performed extensive research in access planning and management. Gene earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Neil Montefiore

Neil joins StarHub on 1 January 2010 as its CEO. Neil has over 34 years of experience in the telecommunication industry. He was the CEO and a Board Director of M1 in Singapore since 1 April 1996. Prior to that, he was the Director, Mobile Services at Hong Kong Telecom CSL Limited, the largest cellular operator in Hong Kong. Neil joined The Cable and Wireless group in 1976 and held various marketing and engineering management positions in Hong Kong, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom until 1983. In 1983, he joined Cable and Wireless Systems Ltd in Hong Kong and was appointed as Chief Executive in 1987. In 1989, he moved to the United Kingdom as Managing Director of PakNet Ltd, a joint venture owned by Cable and Wireless PLC and Vodafone PLC which developed and launched the world's first public packet radio data network. Neil returned to Hong Kong in 1991 as Managing Director of Chevalier (Telepoint) Ltd until 1995.
Neil is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. |

As CEO of Skype, Josh Silver man oversees the company’s direction and strategy and is ultimately responsible for its performance.
An experienced entrepreneur, Josh has helped build several startups to become world-class brands and companies. He joined Skype from Shopping.com, where he served as CEO following eBay’s acquisition of the recently- listed company.
Prior to that, he launched eBay’s European online classifieds business, and built it into the pan-European leader through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth. Under his direct management, MArkplaats.nl (the leading Dutch eCommerce business) grew traffic, revenues and profits more than five-fold in a period of three years.
Josh was co-founder and CEO of Evite, the leading social event planning site in the Web, which he led until its sale to Ticketmaster/Citysearch (now IAC) in 2001. He has also held management positions at ADAC Labs; was a Senior Consultant at Booz* Allen & Hamilton and started his career on the staff of U.S. Senator Bill Bradley.
He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University and holds a MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar and elected co-President of his class. |
Tarek Robbiati

Tarek A. Robbiati was appointed Group Managing Director of Telstra International on 1 December 2009 and is also the Chief Executive Officer of CSL Limited which operates Hong Kong's first and largest mobile network.
Tarek has over 20 years experience in the telecommunications, finance, media and technology industries. As CEO, he has spearheaded and implemented strategies that have seen CSL retain and strengthen its position as a market leader in arguably the most competitive mobile telecommunications market in the world.
Immediately prior to taking up his current appointments, Tarek worked in Australia as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Telstra Corporation Limited from 2005 to 2007.
From 2003 to 2005, Tarek was a Vice President and Head of Corporate Finance at Orange PCS in London where he oversaw Orange International strategy, Business Development / M&A, Treasury, Investor Relations and Strategic Planning. Prior to that from 1999 to 2003, he worked as Vice President and senior equity research analyst in London with Lehman Brothers, in the number one ranked team for three consecutive years, and between 1989 to 1999, he worked as a senior manager with Accenture.
Tarek holds a Master of Business Administration from London Business School, a Master of Science in Business Administration from Institut d'Administration des Enterprises, Caen, France and a Master of Science in Nuclear Physics and Electronics Engineering from Ecole Nationale Supèrieure d'Ingènieurs, Caen, France.

Dato’ Zamzamzairani Mohd. Isa, 49, holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Engineering from Plymouth Polytechnic, United Kingdom and had attended the Kellog School of Management’s programme in Corporate Finance, Strategies for Creating Shareholder Value.
He has vast experience in the telecommunications industry, having held senior positions in several multinationals such as Global One and Lucent Technologies (Malaysia), where he led the company as the CEO.
He joined TM as the Senior Vice President, Group Strategy and Technology in 2005. Before assuming his current role as the Group CEO, Dato’ Zamzamzairani was the CEO of Malaysia Business, TM.

Tim Cowen is Chairman of the Open Computing Alliance an Alliance of companies in the information technology sector dealing with issues of common concern in Public Contracting, Competition and data transfer and interoperability between platforms and systems.
Tim is also a Fellow of Res Publica, the public policy think tank, Visiting Fellow of the British Institute of international and Comparative Law (Biicl), Member of the EU Business Affairs Council, and a Board member of the International Institute of Communications (IIC). He is the outgoing Chairman of the Competition Panel at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and immediate past Chairman of the International Association of Commercial and Contract Management (IACCM). He was awarded the title of ‘Distinguished Visiting Fellow’ at the European Business School in London in November 2008. He is a Visiting Professor at the City of London Law School, the largest law school in the UK.

Russ Shaw is responsible for developing marketing, sales and business development strategies to drive Skype’s business in EMEA.
In addition to leading the EMEA business, Russ is also directly responsible for developing, articulating, and driving Skype’s overall mobile strategy and value proposition globally. A critical part of his role involves developing an appropriate ecosystem focussed on strategic partnerships that are driven by customer needs.
Russ joins Skype following four years with Telefonica/O2, where he held a number of senior executive positions. Most recently he was the Global Innovation Director for the Telefonica Group, based from Madrid. Prior to this, Russ worked at O2, first as UK marketing director where he negotiated the breakthrough sponsorship deal to create The O2 music venue in London. He was then appointed as Innovation Director for O2’s UK operations.
Russ has a BS from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is also a non-executive director for Dialog, a publicly-traded semiconductor company. |

Over the last 3yrs, Ram has represented Intel on multiple WiMAX deals in Latin America, Europe and Asia. He has been an expert advisor to the European Commission on a range of policy issues in the ICT sector.
He has also advised a number of governments on sector reform, drafting legislation to implement and establish regulatory authorities, drafting licences and interconnection agreements, particularly in the Middle East. This included advising on the international policy and regulatory aspects surrounding the original privatisation of SingTel and the creation of the original regulator, the precursor to the IDA.

Mr. Jose Puthenkulam is the Director of WiMAX Standards in Intel’s Mobile Wireless Group and Vice Chair of the IEEE 802.16 Working Group developing Broadband Wireless standards. In this role, he has been instrumental in mobilizing the industry to accelerate the development and evolution of IEEE 802.16 standards for Mobile WiMAX. Presently he is leading the standardization efforts for the 802.16m project targeted at satisfying the requirements for 4G technologies as set forth by the ITU. He was the Assistant Technical Editor of the IEEE 802.16e Mobile Broadband Standard and the Co-Technical Editor of the IEEE 802.16g Air Interface Management Standard. He was also the technical editor of the initial ITU-R contribution for inclusion of IEEE 802.16e into the IMT-2000 family of mobile wireless standards.
He also chairs the 802.16 Project Planning committee responsible for 802.16 Standards Evolution planning efforts.
At Intel since 1996, he has worked on wireless communications, security, video conferencing and information management protocols. He has broad wireless communication protocol standardization experience having worked in IEEE, IETF, 3GPP, WiMAX Forum and GSM Association. He is currently an IEEE Senior member, member of the IEEE Communication Society.
He has won many awards, including the 2008 and 2004 Intel Achievement Awards (Intel’s highest honor) for efforts on Mobile Broadband Wireless Standardization, 2003 GSM Association CEO Award for 3G-WLAN Authentication efforts and the 1995 Motorola India Individual Performance Award for his work on H.320 Multimedia Communication Protocol-based systems. Tom van der Heyden, Director and CEO at Sky Fiber Asia, a Hong Kong start-up focused on developing regional satellite infrastructure businesses, is a digital broadcast and satellite communications industry pioneer, with 25 years building satellite systems and companies across Asia.
To his credit Mr. van der Heyden built IndoVision, the Indonesian national Direct Broadcast Satellite television program, from concept through turn-key launch and operation. His efforts included; developing the business case, enabling debt and equity financing, overall space and ground system design, domestic and ITU regulatory work, in-country operations, as well developing the “go to market” plan.
The Cakrawarta-1 television broadcast satellite was launched on November 12, 1997, and just recently retired after exceeding it design life by five years. While creating the IndoVision pay television business Tom pioneered the first use of S-band & X-band for digital DBS broadcasting service, the first use of MPEG-II for DBS outside the USA, the first dedicated television broadcasting satellite in Asia, as well as other satellite technical and business “firsts”.
Tom also co-founded CTAI developing the STAR satellite bus - the world’s first commercial small (lightsat) geostationary satellite. Russell Perry is the director for Marketing and Customer Insight in Asia and is responsible for strategic and tactical marketing throughout 11 countries. He works with the marketing team in Manila and regional marketing managers. He moved to Manila in 2004 and started the marketing team from scratch and has developed it into the fully fledged service business it is today, managing programs that address a variety of audience groups across all functional business groups.

Alan Kwan is currently the Managing Director of the Asia Pacific Region for Mavenir Systems. A 20 year veteran in the telecommunication industry, he is experienced in helping customers with special and unique requirements. Robin Mersh joined the Broadband Forum as Chief Operating Officer in July 2006 and is the senior full time executive. He has worked in the telecommunications industry for over 14 years, starting in sales and sales management for Cable & Wireless and then moving on to BT before meeting his wife and moving to the US in 1999. He now lives in North Carolina. Robin has worked in business development and alliance management for various OSS software companies in the United States, mainly in network and service provisioning and activation for companies like Astracon, TTI Telecom and Evolving Systems, where he negotiated and managed several large OEM agreements. He is originally from Cambridge in the United Kingdom. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London in 1992. |
