"My company trades a range of telecommunication products such as testers and connectors. I've visited CommunicAsia every year and this is definitely the place where everyone in the industry congregates. Instead of having to travel to various parts of the region, I get to meet up with many of my partners in CommunicAsia. This event is also good for me to learn of new technologies in the market and trends of the industry."

Exhibitors' quotes:

"For VNL and Shyam, CommunicAsia is the premier show in the APAC region. Traffic each year has been steadily growing and is very targeted for our solutions. The show organiser is able to attract the right level of staff from nearly all of our targeted prospects. Their pre-show marketing helped us draw people to the booth to learn more. Both the conference and exhibition were very well-organised, especially considering the change in venue this year. The new location was also a highlight. We anticipate keeping this show on our calendar for many years to come." Jeanne Heydechez, Head of Marketing, VNL/Shyam Network

"This is our first time exhibiting at CommunicAsia and we are impressed by the event. We were able to showcase the ICT technologies available in Thailand – everything from mobile apps to medical technologies. We see hundreds of people visiting the booth each day and have received some good business prospects and collaboration opportunities for the ten companies that are exhibiting under TRIDI. We will definitely be back next year to showcase what Thailand has to offer." Dr. Supot Tiarawut, Director, Telecommunications Research and Industrial Development Institute (TRIDI)

CommunicAsia2011 Summit

CommunicAsia2011 Summit was a resounding success with 740 attendees coming from 45 countries. This year there were 9 tracks and 2 workshops put together to address issues that were pertinent to all stakeholders in the ICT industry. The Cloud Computing and Next Generation Mobile Broadband tracks were expanded from last year, and proved to be highly popular once again. The Mobile VAS Strategy tracks which explored mobile marketing topics, as well as mobile TV, internet and apps, were attended by sell-out crowds. With 179 speakers, mostly senior-level management executives from leading incumbents, as well as up and coming industry players, the CommunicAsia2011 Summit was definitely where the industry wanted to gather to network and learn.

The Visionary Address and CEO Perspectives this year saw a much larger audience than previous years, with the conference hall packed to the brim as Colin Giles, Executive VP of Sales from Nokia delivered his "Vision for the Mobile Industry". This was followed by the CEO Perspectives – a discussion by top-level executives on "What are the top priorities on the telco CEO agenda for 2012?" which provided valuable insights on the challenges ahead and strategies for the near future.

The Mobile Marketing workshop returned after its successful debut last year, and was once again keenly attended. In addition, a new workshop on Network Security was introduced this year, and it was an instant hit with a full room even though it was held on the last day of the show.

Looking ahead, the CommunicAsia2012 Summit will continue to focus on cutting-edge technologies and their commercial implications, as well as to address industry developments and challenges that have the largest impact on all stakeholders.
