SINGAPORE –May 22, 2008 - Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), Asia’s top organiser of trade events together with NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital map data for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, today announced that the twelve semifinalists from the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge - APAC will compete for the Grand Prize and three runner-up prizes at an awards ceremony to be held during CommunicAsia2008 in Singapore on 18 June at 15:30h at the NAVTEQ stand 3B3-01. All CommunicAsia attendees are invited to attend.
The NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge has established a reputation as the premier event in the location-based services (LBS) industry, and invites application developers to build innovative location-based services which work with mobile phones and/or wireless handheld devices using dynamic positioning technology and NAVTEQ maps. This year’s global prize pool consisting of cash and data licenses is the largest yet, worth over $4.5 million USD.

The twelve semifinalists were selected at a semifinal judging event on April 23-24 in Singapore. The selection process was based on applicability, design, functionality and solution overview. They are: AtlasCT, CellCity Pte Ltd, FlyPaper, Inc, G Element Pte Ltd, Joikusoft Oy, Lonely Planet, Momentum Technologies Group, Orbster gmbh, Pacific DataVision, POINT-I Co., LTD, RoadGuard, Ltd and Surround Networks, Inc.
CommunicAsia attendees are also being invited to participate by visiting the NAVTEQ stand, evaluating the semifinalist applications and casting a ballot for the LBS solution they think will win. If they correctly pick the Grand Prize Winner, they will be eligible to win one of five Nokia N95 smartphones. The contest runs during show hours until 14:30h on 18 June and winners will be announced immediately after the awards ceremony. Visit the NAVTEQ stand for official rules and details.
