For The Global Infocomm Industry

Annual Show to Return from 16-19 June 2009

SINGAPORE, 22 December 2008 – An overwhelming 88 per cent of surveyed exhibitors at CommunicAsia2008 stated that the show enabled them to reach their desired target groups, further establishing CommunicAsia as the premier infocomm trade exhibition in the Asia Pacific region. This was according to a survey of exhibitors conducted by organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services. The survey also revealed that exhibitors were pleased with the quality of visitors who had attended with genuine interests. Many managed to generate good leads for sales and partnerships as a result. More than 80 per cent agreed that the show had provided them with a fulfilling exhibiting experience.

Almost 70 per cent of the exhibitors said that the show was an effective platform for them to promote brand awareness in the region. Many exhibitors, including global brands like Samsung and LG leveraged on the event’s regional appeal to launch new products and showcase groundbreaking technologies.

CommunicAsia2008, held in conjunction with InteractiveDME2008 and EnterpriseIT2008, and co-located with BroadcastAsia2008, and CG Overdrive 2008 saw the arrival of over 62,000 trade attendees from the region and beyond. More than 2,200 exhibiting companies from 61 countries across Asia-Pacific, Europe, US and the Middle-East, featured innovative interactive and enterprise solutions at the shows.

Matthias Kunze, Managing Director, Yahoo! Connected Life, Asia confirmed his company’s return as an exhibitor to CommunicAsia, and added, “We are very excited to participate in CommunicAsia once again, as the show is the ideal launch pad for introducing new products and solutions to the region. Yahoo! Connected Life launched several new mobile products and announced key partnerships with leading mobile operators in the Asia Pacific region at CommunicAsia2008. We look forward to announcing several new mobile initiatives for the Asia Pacific region at CommunicAsia2009, further demonstrating Yahoo!’s global momentum and unveiling the next phase of the company’s mobile strategy.”

“It is good that we can ride on a long standing show like CommunicAsia which provides a good platform for us to reach out to potential customers, especially in the ASEAN region,” said Penny Hill, Marketing & Communications Manager, Asia Broadcast Satellite. “The show is a good platform for us to bring our brand to the industry, as well as keep ourselves updated to what the industry and competitors are doing. Our team has gotten some good leads during the show.”

“We are very encouraged by the positive feedbacks from our exhibitors in 2008 and we are thrilled to bring CommunicAsia back again in 2009,” said Victor Wong, Project Director at show organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services (SES). “CommunicAsia, along with InteractiveDME and EnterpriseIT, will continue to be relevant to the industries, featuring the latest technologies and addressing the most pressing issues in the fast-moving and ever-changing infocomm sector.”

The shows will return to Singapore Expo from 16 – 19 June 2009. CommunicAsia2009 will again feature key technologies that draw huge interest and demand from the market. The show saw strong growth in the WiMAX, IPTV and mobile entertainment segments in 2008, attracting good crowds at the show. These clusters will return in 2009, with new “hot” technology additions like Navigation and Location-based Services, Femtocell and Green IT.

CommunicAsia, BroadcastAsia, InteractiveDME, EnterpriseIT, CG Overdrive, as well as various inter-government meetings, are part of the Infocomm Media Business Exchange (imbX). imbX, in its 5th edition in 2009, is Asia’s largest infocomm and media event and contributes to Singapore’s position as a leading infocomm and media hub.
