| NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge® confirms strong presence of wireless
developers located in the APAC region and sets a record number for
Registrations!
In its first year in the Asia-Pacific region, the NAVTEQ Global
LBS Challenge – APAC recorded more registrations than any
other region in the five-year history of the competition.
The record number of registrations was more than 25% higher than
any other region for 2008. These statistics support market research
which shows a high concentration of wireless developers residing
in the Asia-Pacific region.
Since it’s inception in 2003, the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge
has invited developers to build innovative LBS applications that
work with mobile phones and/or wireless handheld devices using dynamic
positioning technology and NAVTEQ® map data. This year’s
global prize pool consisting of cash and data licenses is worth
over $4.5 million USD.
An awards ceremony announcing Asia-Pacific winners will be held
at CommunicAsia, shining a spotlight on talented developers and
entrepreneurs. NAVTEQ will also showcase the latest wireless products
and services at its booth.
