Barry Lerner
South Pacific, Regional CIO, Huawei Technologies Co Ltd

Barry is the Huawei Regional CIO for the South Pacific Office with a focus on Transformation Strategy & Planning to support Next Gen Business Models, IP Services and Networks. Barry specialises in the field of Telecommunications, Business Transformation Consulting, with a focus on translating business imperatives into executable programs, into Architectural Designs and deliverables to enable Next generation BSS/OSS/SDP/ hosted and Cloud based solutions.

Barry has had the unique opportunity to work across several facets of the industry; from AT&T, Lucent, Accenture, IBM (OSS Global Solutions Lead) where he has worked with many Operators around the world.

Ian Pattison
International CTO, Mavenir Systems

Ian Pattison, International CTO, Mavenir Systems, is responsible for providing technical leads in EMEA and APAC, as well as overall product strategy for international regions. Ian has more than a decade of experience in mobile networks. Prior to joining Mavenir he was the CTO of 724 Solutions, and held former positions at Mobixell Networks as Chief Architect and AT&T Phillips/Alcatel-Lucent where he worked on their 5ESS Digital Switch system. Ian holds an Honors Degree in Computer Science.

John Wat
VP, Value Added Service Product Management, PCCW Global

John is Vice President for the Value Added Service Product Management in PCCW Global. Prior to taking the current role, John served the company responsible for the voice and data business development to Asian Carriers and to the Parent Company. He previously worked in various positions from sales and marketing to technical for Level3 Communications, Teleglobe and TMI Telemedia International. John holds a BSc in Computing Science.

Lv A Bin
Vice President, ZTE Corporation

Mr. Lv joined ZTE Corporation in 1998. He has been engaged in the management of Research and Development (R&D), planning, and marketing activities in data, Softswitch, fixed network, and Value-Added Service (VAS) segments. In 2008, he was appointed as ZTE's Vice President. He also successively took up the posts of Deputy General Manager of VAS products and General Manger of Government and Enterprise Network products, taking charge of the operations of the two corporate level strategic products — cloud computing and government and enterprise network. Since 2012, he is in charge of the planning and R&D of products relevant to cloud computing and all VAS products.

Over 15 years, Mr. Lv has gained abundant experience in these telecommunication fields: VAS, cloud computing, mobile Internet, and IOT, and thus has original views about telecom markets.

Matthew Hardman
Senior Product & Solutions Marketing Manager,VMware

Matthew joined VMware in Singapore in 2011 and is responsible for the product marketing of VMware’s virtualization products both in the Cloud Infrastructure and End User Computing space. He brings over 15 years of experience in software development and marketing in the space of Information Technology for Small Business through to Enterprise customers.

Prior to his current position Matthew spent 10 years in Microsoft marketing a variety of technologies from the Windows operating system to Microsoft’s developer tools.

Paul Chen
Director, Unified Communications & Technical Operations, Asia Pacific, Avaya

Paul Chen is the Director of Unified Communications & Technical Operations, Asia Pacific, Avaya. He reports directly to Francois Lancon, President, Asia Pacific, Avaya. In this role, Chen owns and drives the entire Unified Communications Portfolio Sales across APAC.

He also has the responsibility for Technical Pre-Sales and oversees Pre-Sales team development, processes and tools that accelerate sales revenues in the region.

Prior to Avaya, Chen was the Director of System Engineering for Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility Business in Asia Pacific. He has more than 20 years of regional experience in Sales, Technical Systems Engineering and Project Management.

Chen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from the National University of Singapore.

Per Dahlberg
Co-Founder & CEO, Asia Cloud Computing Association

Per has held leadership positions growing telecom and IT businesses in Asia for 20 years. In 2010 he co-founded the Asia Cloud Computing Association where he currently serves as Executive Director and CEO. He is also the founder and CEO of Springpoint, a company linking innovation companies with the Asian mobile market place.

Per started his career in Asia at the Swedish Foreign Ministry and the Swedish Trade Council before taking on senior management positions in technology companies and organizations such as the GSM Association, Actix, SmartTrust and Ascom Wireless.

Rajesh Kumar Sundararajan
Assistant Vice President – Product Line Marketing, Aricent Group

Rajesh Kumar Sundararajan is Assistant Vice President for Data Communication products at Aricent, focusing on routing and switching solutions for broadband networks and service delivery platforms. He has over 16 years of industry experience in strategizing, managing and developing products and business models for communications and network applications across multiple technologies which include ATM, LAN switching, MPLS, Carrier and Metro Ethernet. He holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Bangalore University, India and a master’s in telecommunications systems engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India.

Rosemary Lee
Counsel, Pinsent Masons MPillay LLP

Rosemary is a TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications) lawyer qualified to practice law in Singapore and UK. She has considerable experience dealing with IT, telecommunications, and IP law issues. Her experience has been gained through advising both private and public sector clients on IT and telecom sector-specific transactions in Asia.

Having both private practice and in-house experience, Rosemary has an excellent understanding of the challenges faced by stakeholders in both vendor and end-user organisations.

Rosemary speaks regularly on TMT-related issues and also provides training sessions to companies on topics such as data protection/privacy and cloud computing.

Sal Fernando

Based in Singapore with an APJ role Sal was formerly the chief architect at Veritas (now a part of Symantec) for 7 years, then Chief Architect at EMC APJ for 6 years, Sal is now with CommVault, the leader in modern data management. CommVault is partnering with NTT to deliver end to end, SLA driven, Pay as you use cloud solutions.

Sal has deep business, technical and hands on knowledge of cloud computing (private, public and hybrid), server virtualization, storage and related disciplines such as disaster recovery, availability & continuity, backup, recovery, as well as archival, compliance and security. With this expertise comes an ability to explain and architect complex technologies in a clear and lucid manner to ensure the audience at hand, be they technical or business level, will grasp the value proposition easily.

Simone Brunozzi
Technology Evangelist (APAC), Amazon Web Services

Simone Brunozzi is a truly passionate technologist. After being an entrepreneur, a professor, a CTO, and after writing two technical books and two novels, he joined Amazon.com in March 2008 in the role of Amazon Web Services Technology Evangelist for Europe, to raise awareness about Cloud Computing and help developers build applications.

In January 2010 he relocated to Singapore, becoming the first AWS Technology Evangelist for the APAC region. In 2010 he received the “2010 Cloud Evangelist of the Year” award.

Since 2008, Simone has been a very popular speaker in Europe, United States, Asia, Oceania and Africa, speaking at more than 400 events (and collecting a huge amount of airline miles).

Joe Nguyen

Joe is responsible for new business development and expanding sales of comScore products and services throughout Southeast Asia and India. comScore reports on market-specific measurement of Internet usage for 14 Asia-Pacific countries on PC, Mobiles, and Tablets.

Joe has more than 15 years of experience in the Asia-Pacific region and is an active thought leader in the industry, regularly speaking at conferences and holding a seat on the Advisory Board of ad:tech Singapore and on the Leadership Council of the IAB Singapore currently serving as Vice Chairman.

Prior to comScore, Joe served as regional manager of Southeast Asia for Omniture, as director of global e-commerce with Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, as chief operating officer at Web development agency Open World Ltd, as director of technology at Interactive Audience Measurement Asia Ltd., and in sales and marketing roles at Discovery Channel Asia, Inc. and at Technology Parks Marketing Services Pte Ltd., a subsidiary of the Singapore Government’s Jurong Town Corporation.

Joe holds a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University. He was born in Vietnam and emigrated to the United States after spending a year in a Malaysian refugee camp.

He is a Six Sigma Black Belt holder and a qualified Quality Control and Quality Audit Professional.

He has extensive senior level work experience internationally in 5 continents over many countries. He had more than 13 years of pre-sales/post-sales and project management experience worldwide. He communicated and interacts with customers on a senior managerial level, including CEO and CTO.

Madhwesh Kulkarni
Vice President of Engineering and Offer Management in the Carrier Services and Solutions (CSS), Aricent Group

With more than 20 years of experience in IT/Telecom industry, Madhwesh has worked closely with more than 40 telecom service providers globally. In his current role, he is responsible for engineering operations across the globe and creating integrated solutions/service offerings for communications services business. He has worked with operators across the globe in defining strategic directions for IT, Networks , Operations management, technology and products. Before joining the Aricent Group, Madhwesh worked with Wipro. As one of the founder members of Telecom Service Provider Business Unit of Wipro, he provided strategic inputs to leading Telecom Operators across USA, Europe, Middle East, APAC, India and Japan. He has been also associated with all major OSS-BSS ISVs and telecom equipment vendors in various roles and capacities. He was also on the board of Tele Management Forum as an advisory director.

A veteran in the communications industry, Madhwesh holds a Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from REC Surathkal, Karnataka, India.

Slim Saïdi

Dr. Slim Saïdi is a recognized International Telecommunications Expert., He has held senior executive positions in Major Operators and Consulting firms in UAE, KSA, Tunisia, Mali, Cameroon such as ZAIN , Tunisie Telecom and KPMG, Arthur D. Little and (Arthur) Andersen . He has amongst other lead the marketing team of ZAIN for an exceptional launch in Saudi Arabia achieving a landmark 2 million subscribers in the first 4 months of its operation.

He carries an extensive experience in the African and Middle Eastern telecommunications sector. He has had multiple assignments in Tunisia, Algeria, Cameroon, Mali, Chad, Mauritania, Yemen and other African and Middle Eastern countries.

Dr saidi has been advising many CEO’s and government officials in the region on strategic matters: privatization, liberalization, turnaround strategies, marketing and licensing. He is also a frequent speaker in Telecom and ICT conferences and Leadership retreats.

Trevor Cheung

Trevor Cheung is Director of Services Solution Marketing, VP of Global Technical Services for Huawei Technologies Company Limited. In this capacity, he is responsible for the Managed Services and Assurance Services solution marketing.

He has worked at Motorola Inc. and has held leadership positions in systems engineering, business development, strategic alliance, services product management and services solution marketing. He has extensive and global experience having worked in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the UK and the US.

Trevor Cheung holds a masters degree in business administration from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and a bachelor’s degree (first honor) in electronic and electrical engineering from University College London, University of London. Trevor holds a geo-location algorithm patent.

Ullrika Svenburg
Senior Director, Marketing Operations (APAC) and acting VP, Marketing (APAC), Research In Motion

Ullrika Svenburg is the Senior Director of Marketing Operations for Asia Pacific at Research In Motion (RIM) and is also the acting VP of Marketing in the region.

In this role, Ullrika is responsible for RIM’s marketing activities in Asia Pacific, including driving the BlackBerry brand and target group insights, new product launches, marketing campaigns and events, as well as RIM’s digital and online presence. During her time at RIM, she led a team in the strategic planning and successful global launch of the latest additions to the BlackBerry Curve smartphone portfolio, from Asia.

Prior to joining RIM, Ullrika spent eighteen years in marketing roles with well-known global brand leaders in the FMCG, healthcare and the consumer electronics industries. Her specialities include international brand strategies and portfolio marketing, international consumer communication, as well as overarching marketing and business strategy and operational management.

Ullrika is a graduate from Lund’s University with a degree in Economics. During her spare time, Ullrika enjoys tennis and yoga, as well as travelling with her family.

Xin Ye
CEO, CASEE (A Velti Company)

Xin is a well-known Internet and IT executive in China. He was previously SVP/CTO of Linktone (Nasdaq: LTON), the leading provider of wireless value-added services in China where he managed the technology and strategic business. He was founding CTO of Sohu.com, China’s top web portal. He also served as CTO for Censoft, Microsoft's first joint venture in China. Before returning to China, Xin garnered over 10 years’ experience in product development, sales and business development from many Silicon Valley companies including Tibco and Marimba.

He has earned BS from Tsinghua University in China, and a MS in Computer Science from Marquette University in Wisconsin, USA.

Zoran Vasiljev

Zoran Vasiljev has over 16 years of international management and operational experience in the TMT sector. During his career he engaged and led many project in EU, MENA and APAC. Abhinav Singh
Business Advisor, APAC & Middle East Strategy & Business Development, Nokia Siemens Networks

Abhinav is a member of NSN’s global M2M unit, and looks after marketing, business strategy and ecosystem development in the Asia Pacific Region. Abhinav has several years of strategy and business consulting experience within and outside telecom domain. Within NSN, he has helped several large telecom operators in Asia to evaluate their technology and business strategy options. Prior to joining NSN, Abhinav worked at an international strategy consulting firm, where he supported Fortune 500 and government clients across Asia Pacific in market strategy and policy planning. Abhinav has also worked in the technology consulting space.

Adrian Chotar
Senior Lawyer, Gilbert + Tobin

Adrian is a senior lawyer in Gilbert + Tobin’s Communications and Technology group. Adrian’s principal areas of practice include advising on technology-based transactions, large scale telecommunications transactions, complex services agreements, outsourcing, procurement and general corporate and commercial advisory work. Adrian is part of Gilbert + Tobin’s team advising Telstra (Australia’s largest telecommunications carrier) on the A$43 billion dollar National Broadband Network.

Joachim Koss
Director Standardization, Cinterion Wireless Modules GmbH

Joachim Koss is looking back to more than 29 years of experience from different Siemens telecommunications business units, where he held various management positions in HW/SW Engineering, International Project and Process Management, Conformity Testing and Approval, IPR Management and Standardization. Today he is responsible for Standardization Management at Cinterion Wireless Modules GmbH, a leading supplier of GSM based machine-to-machine communication devices and solutions for customers worldwide. In November 2008 Joachim Koss was elected into the Board of ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and in May 2009 as a Vice-Chairman of the ETSI Technical Committee Machine-to-Machine communications. This TC M2M is the ETSI main centre of expertise in the area of M2M and its main objective is to develop and maintain an "end to end" M2M global vision, targeting total machines IP connection, from connectivity to services.

Martin Creaner
CEO, TM Forum

Martin Creaner has been working in the Telecommunications Industry for 25 years and is currently President and CEO of the TM Forum. Prior to joining the TM Forum Martin held a number of executive positions with Motorola, and British Telecom.

Martin is widely published and is featured and quoted regularly in business and trade journals. In 2011, Martin was named among the Top 25 most influential people in Telecom software by Billing World and the Global Telecoms Business Power 100.

Martin is also the author of the leading OSS/BSS book “NGOSS Distilled”, and the leading Telecoms Transformation book “Frameworx Distilled”.

Musa Unmehopa
Chairman of the Technical Plenary, Open Mobile Alliance

Musa Unmehopa is a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Alcatel-Lucent, where he is director of applications and services standards. Musa serves as the chairman of the Technical Plenary of the Open Mobile Alliance. Before that, he has held several key leadership positions in various standards organizations and industry consortia. Musa has co-authored two books on applications and services standards. He has published numerous journal and conference papers, holds two patents, and has several patents pending. Musa holds an MSc degree in Computer Science from the University of Twente in the Netherlands, and is currently an MBA candidate at the University of Bradford and at TiasNimbas Business School.

Olivier Beaujard
Vice President Market Development, Sierra Wireless SA

Olivier Beaujard has an extensive experience in the wireless industry and M2M markets and is mandated with building and nurturing the company’s relationships with mobile network operators. Olivier joined Sierra Wireless from Wavecom in 2009, where he was responsible for building and leading the product marketing organization for 10 years. Earlier career highlights include international sales experience in value added services platforms for telecommunications networks. Olivier graduated from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (INPG - ENSERG) with an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer diploma, and earned an MBA at ESSEC business school.

Pat Verrington
Vice President, Carrier Services Development, KORE Systems Group

Pat is responsible for the development and delivery of M2M solutions for mobile operators worldwide. Prior to his role at KORE Systems, Pat successfully launched and grew the CDMA business for KORE Telematics including responsibility for managing operator and ecosystem partner relationships.

He was also nominated for, and accepted, a position on the CDMA Development Group’s M2M Executive Council. Pat has over 10 years of experience in the M2M and wireless connectivity market along with over 25 years of experience in global wireless data, digital cellular networks, value-added services and communications devices. His strong wireless background is augmented by a strong foundation in product/service management, business development, sales management and customer support. Pat graduated cum laude from Georgia State University with Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems.

Peter Waters
Partner, Gilbert + Tobin

Peter joined Gilbert + Tobin as a partner in 1989 and specialises in communications and technology. Peter specialises in complex structuring issues which require an understanding of the intersection between technical, regulatory, competition law and commercial issues. He has worked on regulatory, interconnection, wholesale contracting, numbering, IP peering and spectrum licensing issues in Asia and the Middle East and has been involved in the establishment of large scale telecommunications and IT joint ventures. Peter is Telstra’s primary external adviser on regulatory issues arising from Australia’s National Broadband Network. He is also adviser to the Hong Kong Government on the proposed competition law.

Rob Nicholls
Principal Advisor, Consultancy, Webb Henderson

Dr Rob Nicholls heads up Webb Henderson's regulatory consultancy, which focuses on regulatory strategy and implementation in the telecommunications and media sectors. Rob is a highly experienced communications specialist who focuses on technology, regulatory and business strategy in telecommunications and broadcasting. Rob has been delivering regulatory strategy and implementation advice in Australia, Asia and North America to governments, national regulators, operators and vendors for nearly 30 years. Before joining Webb Henderson in November 2011, Rob was a General Manager at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

Robin Mersh
Chief Executive Officer, Broadband Forum

Robin Mersh joined the Broadband Forum as Chief Operating Officer in July 2006, and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in July 2010. Robin has authored many articles and has spoken at and chaired many broadband industry conferences and exhibitions. He has worked in the telecommunications industry for over 18 years, starting at Cable & Wireless and then moving on to BT before meeting his wife and moving to the US in 1999. Robin has worked in business development and alliance management for various OSS software companies in the United States, mainly in network and service provisioning and activation, where he negotiated and managed several large OEM agreements. He is originally from Cambridge in the United Kingdom. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London in 1992.

Rob Rich
Managing Director, TM Forum Insights Research

Rob Rich is Managing Director of the TM Forum Insights Research Group, the Forum's market research arm. In this position, he is responsible for all facets of Insights, and is a regular contributor to the research portfolio.

Rob previously served as Executive Vice President of Communications & Networking Research & Consulting for the Yankee Group. Emmanuel Allix is currently CEO for ADITIC as well as Managing Director Sofialys APAC. This role is a result of Art of Click’s acquisition, a CPM Premium Mobile Ad Network founded by Emmanuel, by Sofialys.. Prior to launching Art Of Click, he was Vice President and Managing Director at InMobi where he oversaw all business functions in the Asia Pacific region.
He also led business and operations at Pudding Media a full service Mobile Advertising solutions provider, worked for GroupM Interaction (a WPP media investment company) where he served as Regional Mobile Director and prior to joining GroupM, spent over 15 years in the IT and Internet arenas across Asia and Europe including at Singapore Airlines. He joins Telstra from AT&T where he held the role of Global Portfolio Manager, responsible for managing AT&T’s portfolio of services globally with a focus on Cloud, Hosting & Application Services, Unified Communications, and Security Services. Nahil Mahmood

Ahmad Azhar Yahya

Ahmad Azhar, a Malaysian, was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Director of VADS on 1 January 2012 and 24 February 2012 respectively. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, USA.

Ahmad Azhar began his career in 1987 as an Engineer in Agilent Technologies (formerly known as Hewlett Packard). He then joined management consultants, Accenture in 1990 servicing a portfolio of clients in Malaysia, Asia and the Middle East in various industries from communications, to high technology, oil and gas and the public sector.

In 2008, Ahmad Azhar was appointed TM’s Programme Director of High-Speed Broadband (HSBB) Programme and contributed to the successful launch of UniFi in March 2010. He was then appointed the Chief Strategy Officer of TM on 15 July 2010 before assuming his current position as CEO of VADS.

Idris T. Vasi

Idris brings more than 20 years of experience in key leadership positions in both start-ups and MNCs. He has extensive cross-functional experience in General Management, Sales, New Business Incubation, Channels and Alliances, Product Management and R&D. He is currently the CEO at DST, Brunei's leading mobile operator and entertainment provider.

Jeremy, holds an Honours Degree in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa, Canada. He has more than 20 years’ experience in technical and managerial roles in IT systems development for media, telecommunications and Business-to-Consumer business. He spent three years at J.Walter Thompson (JWT) and seven years at Star-TV, before serving more than 10 years at PCCW Limited (PCCW), Hong Kong and its group of companies. His last positions there were as SVP of Customer Advocacy and Chief Information Officer of PCCW Global, a business unit of PCCW that provides telecom services globally. Jeremy joined TM Group as CEO of TM Net Sdn Bhd on 20 May 2008 and assumed the position as Executive Vice President, Consumer of TM on 1 February 2009. He was appointed as Executive Vice President, New Media effective 15 July 2010 and remain as CEO of TM Net.

Mark Hukill

I spent the previous 10 years in industry as Asean Communications Industry Principal at IBM Global Services and Director of the Multimedia Competency Centre of Deutsche Telekom Asia. My teaching, consulting and research interests are in knowledge and digital economic strategies and I enjoy this immensely. I have (co-) authored over 100 technical papers which have appeared in leading journals, conferences, trade publications and the broadcast media. I have also co-authored (with Schubert Foo & Alton Chua) a graduate level text on KM Tools and Techniques. In the recent past, I had supported our MFA’s Initiative for Asean Integration by training public officials in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar in Advanced IT Planning. The impactful and transformational nature of this work has been the highlight of my career. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, practicing yoga and listening to music at Muddy Murphy’s.
